Marcella Nurse is a member of the Amazon Global Learning Services team. As an LX [Learning Experience] designer, she creates customized content by diving deep to understand learner needs and thinking big to deliver assets that are uniquely impactful and aesthetically compelling.
Before joining Amazon, Marcella was a Leadership & Talent Consultant at Korn Ferry, where she supported organizations in creating and implementing talent development, performance management, organizational design, and onboarding solutions. A subject matter expert in curriculum development and instructional design, Marcella has launched talent optimization initiatives for clients across financial services, consumer retail, technology, and pharma/biotech. Marcella first joined the firm as a Senior Associate supporting both the Global Financial and Technology Markets in FinTech/E-Trading and Transaction Processing and Risk & Compliance.
Previously, Marcella served as Director of Program & Curriculum Design at the “I Have A Dream” Foundation with a focus on developing strategy, curricula, and training resources for 60 programs across the nation. Marcella has also worked in direct service roles with youth, including an appointment as Deputy Director of Operations in the Office of the Mayor and NYC Department of Youth and Community Development providing curriculum, training, and workforce readiness skills to 42,000 secondary and college students.
She has held research positions at Columbia University Teachers College, Cornell University Weill Medical College, and Georgetown University School of Medicine and co-authored publications in Psychiatry Research.
Marcella received her clinical training at Columbia University, Teachers College; holds an Ed.M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education; and a BA from the University of Notre Dame.
